I started Marshmallow Paws in December 2021. I'd been looking to start my own business for a while. See, I'd been a software engineer working for Fortune 500s. That kind of work doesn't allow for a lot of artistic creativity outside of logic and problem solving which I discovered was something that I really wanted. It was also quite stressful and lonely living in the big city so far from family and old friends. So, as Summer was coming to a close in the Willamette Valley I decided to start researching new business ideas and how I could turn my love of doing things and creating things into something I could do for a living and thus, Marshmallow Paws was born at the height of the Holiday season.

I still use my engineering skills, they're invaluable. From creating my own website to just software and computer literacy in general. Learning new software is just another day at the office for me.

The name comes from my dog (of course!). Jack is a Blue Heeler mix and his paws are speckled with white. Sometimes, I'd tease him by picking up his paws and pretend to nibble on them and tell him "You've got marshmallows on your paws!". He always went crazy! Seeing as Jack is the light of my life I thought it was only fitting to name my shop after him. He's also the inspiration for many designs!
